Emile Zola dit un jour...

"A mon avis, vous ne pouvez pas dire que vous avez vu quelque chose à fond si vous n'en avez pas pris une photographie."

New pictures

Hello everyone. I have put many new photos en Flickr, feel free to go have a look! http://www.flickr.com/photos/odile-k/

Here’s a foretaste..

War, Glory and Love

Friends of mine had a project for school : make a short movie about World War II. I helped them a bit and shot pictures of them. There is a young Gypsy woman in a concentration camp, an SS-soldier and at the end an american soldier who comes to rescue her – and she falls deeply in love with him. It is very kitsch, but that was made on prupose. Here are the shots, hope you enjoy them!

Oh, hello!

Berlin, the perfect place for street photography

"The greatest cultural extravaganza that one could imagine." David Bowie

In the middle of nowhere.

For my holidays, I went to see my german family in Brandenburg. You see Berlin? Well, Berlin is right in the middle of this "Land", but apart from this city, not much happens there.

There’s even a song that is about how boring it is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkvWIwEyPkQ , you see : the Germans make fun of it. But this part of Germany is really beautiful. So I took lots of photos, afterwards I had so many pictures that it took me ages to look through on Photoshop. But I think this selection resumes pretty good what you can find there : waste on the floor, abandonned houses and wonderful landscapes that remind a bit of America : the long roads with nothing on the sides, big impressive trees, endless horizons and the beautiful evening sun that comes with the beginning of spring.

I hope you like it, simply clic on the first picture and you can go through all the rest.

Thank you for passing by on my blog! Feel free to comment, rate or like!

Have a nice week,

Bon anniversaire Papa!

Place Stanislas, Nancy

Sitting at a table outside a café on Place Stanislas with a telephoto lense is something wonderful. The images you can get like this are amazing. And the weird, funny or moving things that happen sometimes on this Place can be quite surprising.

I could do this all my life (I think) :)

My favourite picture is the last one!

The head of the woman is slightly turned right and it gives the impression she is exchanging a look with the man on the right while her boyfriend is looking in front of him.

I have to admit – I’m very proud of this one! I like the man’s look and the frame in the frame.

If you look closely, you will notice the reflection of me and the Place Stanislas in this eye!

This woman was funny : while she was walking, she leaned forward with big eyes surely making funny noises to the baby.

I think I should explain the origin of this picture so that you can understand it. I was taking photos of a small girl (very cute) when she noticed me, became frightened and ran to her mother. I like the composition of this picture.

Ta-dah! Here it is, my favourite picture of the afternoon. I didn’t even remember it and was so surprised when I found it on my computer later on. Okay, I was very lucky to get capture this moment. But still,  it is so great! Three people taking the exact same steps.. Amazing.

Thank you, whoever is watching me up there.

(Joke, I’m not at all religious or something. Although.. This can’t be a product of pure randomness, can it?)

Leave comments, tell me what you think!

I love you, really. With all due respect, you’re a beautiful group of persons. You’re a credit to your race. (Reference to Woody Allen in Scoop, in case you haven’t noticed)
